“The most effective features of the CNTC coaching program include having a coach who supports the beginning teachers through challenging, difficult situations that occur in their first year of teaching. This support is often the difference between that teacher staying in teaching and quitting. I also believe that coaching pushes the teachers’ instructional practice forward through the use of the FAS tools, modeling and co-teaching lessons, the monthly working meetings and opportunities such as literacy workshops and writing workshops provided by CNTC.”
